Simon Coffey
Simon Coffey is a Chartered Engineer with over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry and 15 years’ experience at senior management level. Simon has overseen projects of varying values, scales and complexities in both Ireland and the UK. Simon has extensive knowledge and experience in water, wastewater, earthworks, road, rail and specialist engineering projects and holds BEng, BSc and MBA degree’s; is a Chartered Engineer, Member of the Institute of Directors and Member of Institute of Engineers of Ireland.
Sean Coffey
Sean has worked in the building and civil engineering industry for over 15 years. Prior to that, Sean worked in the IT industry as a Software Developer. Sean has led the development of innovative software solutions, which have been successfully applied for the efficient management of projects across Coffey. Sean was appointed Director of HR and IT at Coffey in 2015 and holds a BSc, an MBA from NUIG, Galway, is a Member of the MBA Association of Ireland and a Member of the Institute of Directors.
Gary Coffey
Gary has worked in the construction industry for over 18 years, having first joined Coffey in 2002. He was instrumental in developing and implementing our Quality and Environmental Management Systems and achieving accreditation against ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 and ISO 50001. Gary oversees the preparation of all project quality and environmental plans and site waste management plans. Gary coordinates the management review of business functions and presents regular reports to the Board on our performance against our Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental objectives and internal Key Performance Indicators. Gary holds a BE, is a Member of Institute of Engineers of Ireland and an Associate Member of the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment.
Mark Coffey
Mark joined Coffey in 1993 and over the following 25 years has been involved in all Coffey property developments. Mark was appointed Property Director in 1998 and has responsibility for all aspects of the companies property portfolio.

Joe Lavan
Joe Lavan is a Chartered Engineer and holds a Master’s Degree in Project Management. Joe has significant experience in the Civil Engineering sectors of Water, Wastewater, Utilities, Roads, Rail, and Bridges. Joe has also held senior positions in the Building sector, including delivery of large-scale, residential, commercial, hotel, leisure, and education projects and particularly off-site and rapid build construction.
Simon Papiernik
Simon is an Incorporated Engineer with over 18 years’ experience in the water industry. Simon has overseen projects of varying values, scales and complexities for a number of UK Water Industry Clients. Simon has extensive knowledge and experience in water and wastewater treatment, dam safety, pipelines and other specialist engineering projects.
Joe Gleeson
Joe Gleeson is a hands-on Managing Director / General Manager / Operations Director with an exceptional record of leading manufacturing operations for global, commercially driven companies.
Experienced in site management including extensive multi-site, regional and global responsibilities , he has a proven track record in managing product and conversion costs through automation and the transfer of labour intensive products from high cost to low cost regions, together with the sourcing of materials in these regions.
Academic credentials include a BEng in Production Engineering from University of Limerick (Ireland).
